What data does Describe use to build a schedule?
Provider availability (including time-off requests), every custom preference (shifts, sites, who they like working with, and many more), credentials, provider metrics (patient satisfaction, length of stay, and patients per hour), predicted patient volume (for each site), and your group's pay rules and costs.
How does Describe predict patient volume?
Describe uses each site's historical patient volume to forecast demand by day and hour, then staffs each shift to match. This helps avoid both overstaffing and understaffing.
How is Describe different from QGenda, ShiftAdmin, or other legacy scheduling software?
Legacy tools mostly track availability, rules, and preferences, and their autogeneration is missing or rarely produces a workable schedule. Describe generates a publishable schedule in up to 10 minutes and also factors in provider performance metrics, over/understaffing and cost optimization, predicted patient volume, and billing data.
ShiftAdmin is ending support. Can we switch to Describe?
Yes. ShiftAdmin is sunsetting and cutting off support, and Describe is a direct replacement for ER and urgent care scheduling. We move your rules, preferences, and schedules over, and groups such as Urgent Care Physicians of South Florida have already switched from ShiftAdmin.
Can Describe handle different provider pay rules?
Yes. Describe supports any compensation model, including hourly, per-shift, RVU, volume-based, salaried, and hybrid contracts. It also calculates shift differentials, productivity and quality incentives, tiered thresholds, quarterly and annual bonuses, stipends, and provider-specific exceptions.
